Dwarf Games

Last weekend, I photographed the Dwarf Athletic Association of America’s annual meet at Roosevelt High School in Seattle. The meet coincides with the meeting of the 50th annual Little People of America’s convention here in town. Below are a couple of my favorite images.

Steve Olesik (CQ), 14 throws the shot put June 30, 2007 at the 2007 Dwarf Games at Roosevelt High School. Olesik, of Rochester, NY, won first place with a throw of 8.88′. The DAAA (Dwarf Athletic Association of America) started in 1985 to help “develop, promote and provide quality amateur level opportunities for dwarf athletes in the United States,” according to the association’s website. The games coincide with the National Little People Association’s national conference being held in Seattle through July 6, 2007.
