Berries and kiddies

Filed under: Uncategorized — erickayne @ 8:49 am

For the paper’s Northwest Life section, I was sent to the east of Seattle to look at a few places in Carnation and Duval that would be fun for the whole family. The first was a place where folks can pick their own strawberries and raspberries. The other spot is an amusement park-type place with a train ride, petting zoo, etc.

Kathy Stensland, a kindergarten teacher from Snoqualmie, picks raspberries June 27, 2007 at Harvold Berry Farm in Carnation. Raspberries are available for picking until mid-August. Stensland said she plans to make jam or pies with the berries, “and of course raspberry shortcake.”
